RE.UNIQLO: Earth Month Initiatives

Camryn Cadenhead | Digital Brand Marketing Manager April 22nd, 2026

Diving in deeper to ways we can support going Galleria Green is the least we can do this Earth Day to celebrate this planet we inhabit.

A great place to start in with one of our very own amazing retailers making great strides in the sustainable fashion community, UNIQLO

UNIQLO has been working hard to make ethical production and sourcing efforts through multiple touchpoints down their supply chain and in-store to do their part in protecting the world around us.

While they are still working on becoming the most ethical and sustainable fashion brand they can be, they have implemented multiple amazing offers and practices available online and in-store here at Galleria Dallas.

UNTRASH IT

For Earth Month, UNIQLO has partnered with Piece of Cake Moving & Storage and Waste Management to help extend the lifecycle of clothing through their UNTRASH IT campaign. Throughout the month of April in Dallas, you can book a Moving Day and Piece of Cake moving will arrive at your door with four UNTRASH IT bags for you to fill with clothes that has run their course in your wardrobe. From there, Piece of Cake will deliver the bags to UNIQLO’s RE.UNIQLO’s program where Waste Management will take them to be recycled, thus helping to create a circular fashion model for the brand.

If you missed the moving truck, no worries. You can still drop off pre‑worn UNIQLO items at any UNIQLO here at Galleria Dallas using their RE.UNIQLO collection bins.

RE.UNIQLO Studio

RE.UNIQLO Studio is a program available in-store that allows customers to bring in their UNIQLO clothes to be doctored in various ways.

Repair

You can have stitching, patching, taping, or button replacement on select UNIQLO items for just $5 on worn out or damaged items, given the clothes are washed and clean before being turned in for repair.

Embroidery Service

Their embroidery services allow your clothes a second chance at life or a new creative flare. You can choose a design from a variety of icons and texts options they have available to create a new piece or cover up a hole for $10 to $15.

Their Texas locations, like here at Galleria Dallas, have unique Texas Locations Exclusive Embroidery icons that can be chosen for your items.

Recycled Materials

UNIQLO is currently utilizing recycled materials for some of their nylon and polyester items. By 2030, UNIQLO has plans to switch approximately 50% of all materials used to recycled materials.

Responsible Procurement

The way materials are sourced are just as, if not even more, important as how clothes are produced and recycled. UNIQLO has established a supply chain that focuses on low-emission materials and ethical practices.

For down and feather products, UNIQLO ensure that:

  • No plucking of live animals

  • No force feeding

  • Holistic animal welfare throughout their lifetime

  • Every step of supply chain is audited by a certified third party

  • Certified to the RDS

Their premium linen shirts are made of 100% Masters of FLAX FIBRE™, meaning:

  • They are third-party verified traceability from fiber to finished product for Flax grown in Western Europe

  • They are created from a vegetable fiber from an agriculture generally cultivated without irrigation, with limited use of inputs and always GMO-free

  • The mechanical process that generates no waste, the entire plant is used and valorized

Even after Earth Month concludes, UNIQLO and Galleria Dallas will be continuing to focus on green efforts throughout the years to come.
