Latina-Jewish multidisciplinary artist Joy Reyes uses the transformative power of art to bridge the gaps between cultures, highlighting social issues and fostering a sense of community. With a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for the beauty of diversity, she creates portrait paintings and mixed-media works intended to resonate with viewers on a personal level. Reyes’ work explores specific themes of familial bonds, motherhood, grief, love, religion, culture and sexuality, as well as the emotional connection to lost loved ones. The Dallas-based Reyes has shown her art in galleries and shows across Texas.
