Brenda Melgoza Ciardiello is a Fort Worth-based interdisciplinary artist, writer and educator born in Mexico City. Between things sensed and things remembered is an exhibition of multidisciplinary work featuring original paintings, ceramics, and photomontages explores place as memory, place as material, and place as self motivated by the beauty of a life lived crossing borders and negotiating origin and belonging through a lens of displacement and cultural plurality.

Inspired directly by plants, landscapes, and fruits encountered on multiple visits to Coyoacán in Mexico City in 2023 and her residency in Crete, Greece in 2024, the artist uses abstraction and color to examine what it means to carry multiple places within oneself.
