It’s the start of a new year and many of us have made resolutions to get fit. Sometimes if you’re looking for motivation all you need is a new workout look.
Trends this season include monochromatic soft colors, like olive, violet, and birch, retro details, like flare details, corduroy and earthtone colors, and versatile athleisure. And trending in athletic wear, as well as in other categories, is an emphasis on sustainable pieces.
We stopped at The Westin Galleria Dallas to show you new workout trends for the new year.
Monochromatic Olive
For 2024, we’re seeing softer, more muted shades, like this monochromatic Nike look from Nordstrom. Leggings are a workout wear staple, and this pair features a high waisted style with moisture wicking technology, as well as a pocket to hold your cell phone. We’ve paired these with a matching sports bra and a cropped long sleeve shirt with a mock neckline and thumbholes to keep it in place while you move. The matching fleece hooded jacket keeps the color scheme going from your car to the gym.
Retro Sportswear
Another thing we’re seeing in workout wear this season is a return to retro. No matter which decade you look to for inspiration, this trend provides the perfect blend of nostalgia and function. This look from Lululemon has a decidedly 70s vibe with the earthtones and little details. Flare leg style pants are a trend we will see in 2024 fashion and these pants from Lululemon take that trend to the world of fitness. You can unzip the hem for a dramatic flared look, or zip them up for a more subtle flare. The ribbed texture of these leggings, as well as the matching Define jacket are reminiscent of corduroy. And both pieces offer Lululemon’s sweat wicking, quick drying and four-way stretch technology. And throw on this quilted Wunder Puff bag to keep you hands-free.
Sustainable Pieces
Of course, we can’t forget about the guys and Lululemon has all the hottest workout wear for him as well. Don’t be afraid of color when it comes to your work out wear! These bright blue Pace Breaker Shorts are perfect for running or cross training. The 7-inch length is long enough for coverage and short enough for a comfortable stride when running. Both these shorts, and this navy License to Train Shirt highlight another popular trend of fitness fashion, which is the focus on sustainability. These pieces are both made from recycled polyester, so while they’re high-performance activewear pieces, they’re also good for the environment. In fact, even these sneakers by On from Nordstrom are also made with recycled polyester. They offer light weight, comfort, and have a bit of blue that ties into the rest of the look.
Athleisure-ification
One of the biggest trends in fashion is athleisure and making those workout looks work for every day. Activewear is no longer confined to the four walls of the gym. This look seamlessly blends the lines between what we were to sweat and everyday streetwear. The new real lux collection from OFFLINE by aerie features premium materials for a smooth and sleek look no matter where your day takes you. Notice the elevated details like the curved stitching for a flattering fit, and they look equally as stylish when you add a black and white sweater for a casual vibe. We’ve completed this look with black Nike Air Max sneakers from Nordstrom for a modern look, whether you’re in the gym or on the go.
As you can see with his fashionable fitness find it’s easy to achieve your goals, and look great, while doing all of these looks and more can be found at Galleria Dallas.
